Novak: Russian government still favors single gas export channel

MOSCOW, Apr 4 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has not changed its position and will support a single natural gas pipeline export channel owned by gas giant Gazprom, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on April 2.

In March, Deputy Energy Minister Kirill Molodtsov told reporters that the ministry received state-run oil major Rosneft’s request for access to export gas via pipelines.

“The government’s position has remained unchanged from the point of view of a single export channel of pipeline gas. In this case, the issue of sales within the country is a commercial issue and an issue of agreements between companies,” Novak said.

But the ministry will study Rosneft’s request, he added.
